The Season Kick-off for the Livingston Farmers Market is tonight, April 20, from 5 to 8 P.M. There will be fresh produce, featured chefs, live music, hot food and kid’s activities all season long!
Every Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., from mid-April to mid-July in the town of Livingston in Madison County, the Livingston Farmers Market opens. This is no ordinary produce stand.
The Livingston Farmers Market, winner of Mississippi Magazine’s Best Farmers Market in 2015 and 2016, attracts thousands of people to its cooking demonstrations, food vendors, wine and beer garden, kids’ activities, live music, and more.
This family-friendly gathering is one of several free or low-cost hometown events focused on creating an old-fashioned sense of community centered on the arts, literature, music, and food.
The Town of Livingston is experiencing a unique rebirth and redevelopment as a purposefully rebuilt community on top of the town’s historic 1800’s footprint, down to the resurrection of its once-abandoned town square. A sweet shop, florist, wine cellar, cooking school, and restaurant are just a few of the boutique businesses springing up on the town square.
The Farmer’s Market is located at 116 Livingston Church Road. To find out more about Livingston Farmers Market and other upcoming events, visit the town’s website and sign up for its newsletter. You can also find out more about Livington on Facebook.
