Fleet Feet’s very own run PUB RUN is BACK. Sponsored by Capital City Beverage and Brooks Running, we meet the last of the month at Soulshine Pizza for a 2 or 4 mile run. Run is at 6pm. If you are 21 or over, you get a free beer on us after the run! This is a free event, but we do ask that you sign the digital waiver and join the Fleet Feet fun run group here.
The Ryanman Triathlon is Mississippi’s only 70.3 mile triathlon and we want you to finish it! The program starts on Monday morning June 18th. This program is lead by USAT Level 1 Coach Arash Sepehri as well as other experienced triathletes, some of whom are also Race Directors for the Ryanman. They know this race better than anyone and have a strong desire to see you do well in training as well as on race day. Weekly group workouts will consist of swims on Monday mornings at the Madison Healthplex and bike rides on Saturday mornings from various locations such as The Bike Crossing, The Township and Lakeshore Park which is the actual race venue where you can ride the bike course. Coach Arash will be using Training Peaks to give you your weekly workouts to do on your own. This is a great program to use in a coach/athlete relationship. You may find yourself joining up with others in the group to do runs together when you’re not with the entire Fleet Feet group. We will have informational meetings on Monday June 11th and Thursday June 14th, both at 7:00pm at Fleet Feet. Come join us and cross the finish line in October as a Ryanman Finisher!
Last year, 12,000 runners across the country participated in the first-ever Fleet Feet nationwide 5K, The Big Run, on Global Running Day.
In 2018, The Big Run is back and bigger than ever.
On June 6, Fleet Feet locations nationwide, in partnership with Brooks and Nuun, will hold one of two 5K events: either a (super) fun run or a certified, timed 5K race.
All results from certified, timed 5K races will funnel up into a national leaderboard to determine and reward the overall fastest runners and age groupers in the country with some pretty cool cash prizes. And since this is Fleet Feet, and we celebrate and welcome runners of all abilities and levels, we will also recognize runners with some truly unique awards, including:
● Common Ground: Finish at the most common finish time for The Big Run, and we’ll enter you into a drawing for something BIG!
● Middle of the Pack: We’ll recognize the male and female who finish in the exact middle of all The Big Run results.
● Social Butterflies: We’ll thank the two people with the most-engaged social media posts from The Big Run with some pretty sweet prizes.
Curious to check out last year’s event? Search #thebigrun on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to see how our epic coast-to-coast running community celebrated at The Big Run.
